See

My eyes know the largeness of this world,

The ins and outs of nature’s ways, to dart between the trees limbs and leaves and watch for the dog or the cat, their ways being simple, and their means to upset or ruin a tiny life always at the front.

The fit feet so well, on this tiny big board, as I check for animals and man’s way of leaving his yard for visitors he never expected.

All of me, all of my friends, we flitter about so seriously, to find food, shelter, and learn and live the life that wings have placed upon us.

We speed throughout the buildings; some of us live on your porch, some have entered the little houses swinging from the poles or on the iron tees where the stories tell us, that clothes once hung.

We all live here, in your yard, and hers, and his, and theirs, for a time, that brief moment in time, when we can be a part, before we move on to the rest of our lives.
