Across this modern fence,
Lays the tall grass and sunshine, and motley growth
Of yesterday, not mown,
Littered with limbs, and
Spiny weeds that keep bare Limbs, and those covered with Faded denim, as far back as They can stand.
The hay loft is high, though Empty, the feed trough is low, Though scoured out for every Inch of feed, and the barns Roof is rusted down to its Core, but holding, the rain and Wind at bay.
The vertical boards hold it, The ones horizontal keep it Together, the wind and the Rain, and time, keep knocking
On the door of its life.

Note: This barn wall and the other front wall is covered in these 2x4’s, all spaced accordingly. I have asked four people I know, some in their 60’s and the others in their 80’s and they had never seen this done on a barn. I am more than happy to hear your opinions.
