As Far As I Could

If you heard me turning, around the center axle, and known my only goal,

Was to keep rotating, and pulling, with all the power I had, that sweet clicking noise,

The tail fin pointed me in the direction, my face was to the wind, spine vibrated slightly,

As I spun for many decades, rocking gently in the breeze, but kept the water fresh.

Just once, in a winds a whirling, with spring storms upon the rise, twirling air turning, my center ring broke,

And my blades felt, and bent with the blow.

My body still stands demanding, the daily winds to blow, but, I have gone,

As far as I could, to make the water flow.
