The night is almost with us now,
And the days of cold and blowing,
Have brought the feelings of nightfall,
Across time, and crowned the water
With ice and then snow,
And painted the lake white, the banks
White, and looking toward the sky,
You see the white of the clouds,
Creating the picture of night.
