Cooling

These hot days, when a man walks out of the house to begin his day as the sun breaks the hill, streams of morning sweat begin to run, through the short hairs on his neck, down his shirt, pooling and making dark colored spots, that will dry, and wet again, ten times before this day is over.

His straw hat will protect him from the intense sun, his arms will make his day go by, tilling and working the fields, and make him work til almost dark.

She in her cotton dress, head wrapped in cover, no shoes on her feet, her bright red dress, the baby on her hip; will cook, and clean, and can, and wrap the food, and bring the house and all its inhabitants together.

Windows open, curtains pulled back, air where it can pour through the house, and pots of potatoes, corn, and fresh made bread, making in the kitchen.

A hundred years ago; this mornings touch. The differences are few, as they work and bring each day through from its beginning to its end .
