Cross The Canadian

My steps feel strong, as I wave off the feelings, of being where I am.

The nightfall is looming here, across these rails that roll to find the wind, the clouds and dusk will capture me, I hope, and keep me safe forthwith.

Vibrations begin to skim the body, the hair standing to send, the knowing that it must be coming, that long train that runs forever, that train which has no end.

I’ve gotten to the middle now, and hear it’s wheels begin to clack, and further hear it’s whistle blow, it’s on the lonesome track.

The wind does blow, my hair aback, my clothes are nothing to it’s lonesome wander, for here upon the road, it’s louder still, the boards are rocking to the view, the light so bright, is blinding me, till at last, the two of us will meet.
