About the dancers that come forward together,
Their costumes so tight, black tie affairs,
Gowns sown from the floor to the neck,
With black shiny or glossy shoes
And feet that look, small but ply with the weight,
As they move toward their toes and gesturing with their hands
Gentle and full, and the gentleman all curled around,
Each with their gracious bows and deferential moves,
To the women who fill the floor.
Bow, to the left, bow to the right,
If only in our imaginations.
