Daydreaming Of Places No More

Updated: Jul 22, 2023

Beneath the sunshine's radiating light, the fickle old front of this homegrown building,

All graced with glass windows made of old sand, and gathering the dirt as it whirls cross the prairie, to fill up the spaces that might of been,

Full of the kids and the adults, and peppered about with the tales of great families, and temperaments held one and all,

and smaller buildings now gone with the summers extra warmth, or the grand coolness or coldness of winters touch.

All it takes is to daydream, the wonderment that will be caught between the way it was and the way it is now, that off-sidedness of old feeling new, through the light brought down from above. Still not in the dream, the blankness left by all having fallen.
