Easy Street

Across the rolling grass filled hills of Mayes county, Oklahoma, out about a a few miles on a dirt road, three miles from Hwy 28A, and back in a hundred acre plot of wood and round hay bales and a seven acre pond that you really can't see from the road but that still lays so softly against the many trees that surround the green-blue cool waters.

Over on the southeast side, amongst the small covering of pine trees, lies this little plot of land, that carry's on its back the little one bedroom cabin that belonged to Papa when he was alive. The small place has a porch as big as summer, that let the south wind blow in and made four steps sound out as it was walked. The back was smaller, but from the living room window, you could see the pond, as big as a lake when looking through the trees, a path for fishing, and a run for the dogs around the dam and down the waters edge. Two rooms and a bathroom, wood all around, living life to the fullest, watching the day, fall across the water.

Just a ways, oh it is easy to find, down at the end of Easy Street.
