I’ve Done My Best

I’ve done my best, out here, in a Minco field,

and spun the rest, the wind, that would yield,

These two children, looking over, and watching my work,

Are all I could give, all I could make, their presence I could not shirk.

Their power lies in money now, that thing they cannot spend,

And mine in water from the ground has come unto the end.

We’ll ride this windy storm together, alone and far apart,

Their blades will still be turning, and mine, within my heart.
