Across a rural road, made of seventy year old dirt that was still loose from being dug and drug up from a field, that had been worked and platted and still ran from the road on account of fierce rains and then poured back on from dumptrucks and settled in to become the access one needs to make his way across the backwoods of Rogers County. There, on the side of the road, you'll see him.
The broken tree split and fell at odd angles, about five feet up like lightning had caused its demise. On a rainy day it looks worse than in the sunlight, the looks of the tree creature staring across the road, peering in to the house, showing its unblinking eyes, its length of hair rolling over its furrowed brow, stringing down to end on either side. The eyes, hollow and thick, it's forehead curled down, a certain amount of horror emanating from its face, making the bones chill from those who look on when the night fills the sky.
Or, it could be a peakenese, sitting there with its top knot all pretty, waiting to bark. The decision is yours.
