Bright yellow, it has to startle the others as it stands there.
It’s look is singular, alert, it’s eye is open, and it stands vigilance over the garden.
It’s breast is golden, it’s feathers are golden too, as it looks all around the garden, in full breeding plumage, it’s cascade cannot be missed, should not be missed by anyone, or anything seeking the king of it all.
The American Goldfinch, is in his full breeding plumage too, and together they hold spell, over the brilliant garden so bright, looking for all the plunder, these living things should have.
