A grand effect, this first few days of fall,
As the last of summers sunflowers are beaten by the heavy heat,
Cradled by the birds, eating their blooms, coolness comes much to late,
The flower swoons and hangs, eventually it dies, fades away.
There, it lives on, only in memory, the most fruitful among our senses, the one that can wrap all our other feelings away.
