Let Him Be

It stands, or keeps it height, through figments of the imagination. There are days of delight here, days of dismal offerings, and wonderful days of sunshine carrying down, and leaving the shade on two sides.

The trees are bare enough that this can be seen, it’s aching backbone, it’s limbs of reach and footing, the safety it once had is no more, and nothing is within.

The wood has fiercely denied its bane of existence, from insects, to shadow, to heat and cold, it has done its very best to maintain its lifestyle, and its tin cap, with holes a plenty, still covers its bending and twisted inside, trying to keep its presence. A hundred years, seems nothing in its existence.
