Sitting here on the bank, Wishing the feeling of the line were tighter,
Watching the night slowly go up,
Seeing the moon go higher and higher.
Letting the coolness of the steel cold, ruminating night,
Wrap around the neck like a heavy cloak,
Bringing it all together, the moon, the essence, the light.
See the new moon climbing,
Spinning itself on the lake beneath its dim, yet golden glow below,
In its own comfort space, the tiny strip of light, of the divide that shows.
Feel it all, with this split of the darkness, this hole in the sky,
The blackness of the entire night, as you felt, and feel, its captured, for you, it can never lie.
