His eyes are always scanning the landscape, the mean and planes of things, checking out each piece and small wave of tender leaves that have fallen.
His perch among the branches, those that have lost their leaves and flowers, leave him there above us, looking forward to the next place that he will land, his next meal, the wealth of his family.
He has been most places before, he has seen his world around him, he has watched as his young have grown, and helped them move forward in their lives, while keeping his and those around him.
This touchstone of reality, this pantheon of fulfilling crisis need, is all a part of this beast; making his moments lost of introspection, pale in comparison to his steadfastness, of his keeping up, and knowing his place.
Travel well, dear Eagle, your flight has kept the many whole.
