One Red Post

Holding yourself steady, looking through the rails of the fence row, the painted steel of two inch pipe, running from here to ever-after, gracing us from left to right, or right to left, depending on your perception and the way you see the world.

The green trees of spring, various leaves, various shades and various shapes, coat the blue sky canvas behind them, fractured bits and openings let light and feeling inside, and play the grass, it’s own green, mown down, then not mown, as your work it from the plain.

A single line of Christmas lights wrapped across the highest member, they twinkle in the night, but in the day time, they appear to chase the red post, and wrap themselves beside it, making it all appear to be respect, for this one red post, standing so firm, against the Oklahoma wind.

Just watch, as the shadows move, and all continue to grow.
