Potatoes Made

I found a bag of potatoes that had been moved to the back of the closet when things were being kicked around and new stuff laid in, along about the first of March. My daughter had come home from Utah and had brought her daughter 3 and her son 1 1/2 to stay for a week. The day before they were leaving, this bag of small potatoes, all covered in roots, but not rotted, showed up and I thought, hey! I'll have her plant them in the garden.

I got the tiller running, ran one row of ground, cut the potatoes up and drafted Gemma at 2 3/4 years to plant them.

The interest in planting them was in and out, but she put every piece of potato in the ground and I covered them up, and they went on about their trip.

A few days ago about Jun1, I had planted the rest of the garden, and it was green and working, and I slipped a shovel into the ground just to check and see if a potato had formed.

THEY DID!!! This is Gemma's first garden item to grow, and I'll be mailing her taters along to her! Good job Gemma, she will be three years old on the 13th. Happy Growing!!
