Rabidosa Rabida

The Wolf Spider

This female creature has eight eyes; four above its midline and four below, and the lower down eyes are reminiscent of a mustache, and its view cannot be compared. Good looks come in various variations.

Very female.

It has eight legs (of course, it is a spider none-the-less) all tan and buff, like it has been laying in a tanning bed and working out) and it has two dark stripes down it's back, with white to offset the color.

THIS IS A VICIOUS little devil (make or female), it is a WOLF Spider after all. It will bite. Not bad though, little bitty mouth. A Rabidosa Rabida.

The common namesake "rabid wolf spider" is thought to derive from the erratic, rapid movement of this species. Or it could be a pattern that the males set up because they are half as big as the wives.

(However, spiders cannot have rabies and therefore, cannot transmit it to humans or other animals.)

This is an Oklahoma spider. They hunt at night, by ambushing their prey, or chasing it. (Female) Sometimes, in order to catch their prey, they camouflage themselves as bark or leaves. (Female)

During breeding, the male performs a "dance" in front of the female, and makes a noise with its legs. (Male, obviously)
