Pulled behind two old horses, this too old wagon, while loaded for the joy of making its way across country, cutting down muddied out paths and across great plains can stand the journey not much longer. Tied to its side are the shovel and wash basin and iron skillets with short lengths of rope all cinched and knotted good.
It's cover is frightfully worn, the road to Oklahoma from two to three states to the east, have taken day upon day of wounding seats, wrecking hills, and wishing for the good life they know is there. They traveled together, all wanting the good life, all carrying the best of the best, in fact, carrying it all on board.
The mail will come another day, as the ponies keep pulling them home.
