“Thanksgiving went right on by this year,” it said, giggling, “No one took a shot with a bow and arrow, nary a gun popped to dust my feathers, a brilliant time for us all” it said so happy in its state of bliss .
The other bird looked around and around and around, staring and wondering.
“Keep calm” it said down under its breath, “The pig’s still alive, the cow is still giving milk, the freezer is empty and Christmas is on its way….”
“No worries,” said the first turkey, “for all the birds that are here, all of us who have made it this far, we shall never be anything but little happy birds that ………”
