Santa Came

Santa came to our house one day,

Just a day to two ago,

He'd made the trip to see us,

before Christmas, the coming day that would take his thoughts and actions, to help give presents to everyone, who said that they believed.

We were little children, that worried about ourselves and what we would would get, and would it be the right thing, that one thing we wanted or needed, or convinced ourselves that Santa was just for us.

We got older though, and time spread its wings above us, and we parted ways with Mr Claus, and he began to visit those that were younger, and needed to know that they were loved. We kept our smiles but found a way not to believe.

As grandparents, we wanted to be there for all the little ones, pack them up, and say here we go, off to see Santa, tell him the truth, all that they needed or wanted would be honored there, and gifts piled beneath each tree.

Now we are old or older than then, we've great grandchildren to love and to keep us busy, as their grandparents and parents act all in accord, to show them the things, much more than we would, for Santa to show, and promise the things the children will need.

Please, if only a minute, may I say ( as their brains turn inside out), to know you are loved, to know you can love, nothing much greater than this will you see, as we move along, make way for them all, for Santa to be their reprieve.

Goodnight dear children, Goodnight.
