Nothing but stones are in the garden. Stones with the names of loved ones, mothers and fathers, young children, old men and older women.
Those lost, those found, those who meant more to us than life could be, those who made our life, parents, grandparents, greats, uncles and aunts.
But one time a year, Memorial Day, our minds can place a special kind of loss and recognition, that favor among those of us who have lived and are living, because of those who have served, who have died, who have brought honor to the name on the stone, and the country we enjoy, because of them.
Let’s enjoy the stones, that lay out for everyone to see, to read, to be a part of our life, and those who will live and love in the years to come.
Stones and American Flags, they are part of our existence.
