The Best Breakfast (of many to be had)

Working in the garden this time of year will leave quite a few of the mucles sore, make the back feel like you have carried a great pack for great miles. The muddy shoes (yes it has rained here, a lot this summer) sitting on the porch steps waiting their turn for the next go round, and the blue plastic bucket that I intentionally drilled five holes in the bottom, but do not remember why. There are also the clippers that are bright orange and extra sharp laying in the bottom waiting for their take of the gardens many gifts.

But breakfast, it's another story. Their is bacon and I am sad to say that it is not MY bacon, but it is Oklahoma bacon and that means it fries just exactly right. There are two eggs (Claremore local chicken) that are partially fried to a crisp structure outside and the gooey deep golden yoke waiting to be broken, in a teaspoon of oil (Oklahoma) and three red habanero's chopped briskly, (garden, mine), a quarter cup of onion (garden, mine) and a touch of salt and pepper (Salt Lake City).

This breakfast includes one small green tomato. (My backyard, Claremore) Sliced into four slices, the tomato is covered with a light coating of flour (Shawnee), then a fresh egg and a 1/4 cup of milk (bought at Sam's, they seem like they are Oklahoma) all mixed up and coated with corn meal (Shawnee's Best, Oklahoma) and fried in cooking oil (Yellow package, don't know where it's from) until the cornmeal takes on that rich brown color of just getting done.

Amazing that in three separate dishes you can get that much Oklahoma into one skillet and on one plate, for a guy to eat the best breakfast available. Breakfast #2- 41 will be coming at a later time.

Lowest in calories. No. Best for you, again no. An awful good way to start the day? Yes it is, the very best.
