The Last Time

There was a time when this baby giant was just about one year old, and his mother felt that perhaps a barber could do his haircut the best, so she took him there. There was a counter full of postions and lotions, full bottles of green cleaner and spray cans of aero-spray for those it mattered to, and resident clippers and hair removers hanging from little cup hooks on the front of the counter.

The barber, who could have gone by "Mr. Serious" was stylish in his white over shirt, his arms not encumbered and his hands free for complete access to the boys head, trimming his hair down to the scalp, and flittering away the thin golden locks, with all the aplomb he could muster. Four bits (which today would seem paltry) was enough to bring a smile to his face.

The "Last Time" refers to the boys Mother cutting his hair from then to when he got older, and the fact that his hair quit growing on the top before the 70's were complete.
