The Resting Trees

Leaves are breaking out to their new lives on the tree branches, the grass is growing green, through the last of winters brown.

It’s Aprils’ last day, the weather has been cool here in the northeast part of the state, with raining to boot, and May should come tumbling in tomorrow morning.

The paint looked thin all fall and winter. Thought it was the best time to apply new this Spring, but, well it seems like there are other things that need attention now, so maybe later in the summer, when the wind stops blowing, and the day starts at dawn, and the morning temperature feels like last night all over again, I’ll have the chance to put it off again.

There will be plenty of hay to be laid up in the barn, in a few months, when the old is gone and we will bale a few bales on that old square baler, and put the round bales outside.

Keep turning Mr. Mill, turn, turn, turn…Bring up the water to the calves, and the horses, and the birds about the barn, it’s a new day to consider.
