The rain has washed down
Across the road, puddle here
Puddle there, just spots in the road,
Where the earth had gathered
This water, each in its own pool,
Reflects the day and brightest sun,
The tree still held in winters cloak,
And the clouds above, startling colors,
Plays the visions trick of what’s in,
Or what’s out, as the water warms
And moves away to the middle,
Closing the time to be seen.
