Watching the Autumnal Equinox roll itself across the plains, bringing daylight and dark instantly together, and after its instantaneous happening, bring the darker times to greater length and the lighter times to the very excitement of the day.
The bright day becomes a brighter time, when sunlight cuts the thinner air quicker, and light permeates the sky with all its might. The trees, with greens and browns, leaves so desperate for falling, are swept together, much as a broom dusting the blue of daylight, and washing away the heat of the summer.
It comes upon us, once again. So quick this time, so very quick.
